19th Century Chinoiserie Game Table with Black Felt Top and Carved and Raised Details

This detailed, painted Chinoiserie game table features tapered legs with a black felt center, and dates back to the 19th century.  The antique painted piece carries scenes along the top which are beautifully raised and carved. Added details rest delicately on the legs and apron. An identical table to this was seen at the 2015 auction of “Precious Objects and Property from the Estate of Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe”, who was a lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth II, at her coronation.

This Louis XV “Tric Trac” (backgammon) game table features satinwood veneer and dates back to the 18th century, Circa 1780. The French Antique piece holds a reversible leather/felt top, which rotates to show the playing suface. The piece rests on cabriole legs with bronze mounts on the feet and sides, as well as two small drwaers with bronze pulls. The game of Tric Trac was invented in France around 1500, with the earliest record of the game dating back to 17th century England.

French 19th Century Louis XVI Mahogany Rectangular Table with Onyx Top and Bronze Mounts

This small Louis XVI rectangular table features a brass gallery pierced in diamond shapes, surrounding a beautiful onyx inset top, dating back to the 19th century. The mahogany French antique piece sports bronze side mounts with scroll work and a floriate motif, and square column legs with block marguerites resting on bronze Ionic capitals. The legs are fluted and tapered, growing in size towards the top, with bronze mounts on the feet below. Bronze swags and festoons rest on the sides of the bottom shelf with block marguerites at all four sides.
