This 18th Century Austrian painted cabinet is absolutely exquisite. The piece features raised panels on the sides, raised floral elements are covered in gold leaf and head to the pedestals with acanthus leaves and scroll work. A carved crest and urn sit at the top of the piece with ribbons of joining tassels flowing to the exterior. The cabinet is adorned with gold leaf accented paintings, features unusually curved shelves originally used to display fine dish-ware, and finally features the beautiful original glass. The glass has ‘settled,’ giving it the subtle waves in the reflections seen here not as imperfections, but a delicate portrayal of time and history.

This magnificent rock crystal and bronze d’ore chandelier comes from the Paris residence of the Baron James-Mayer de Rothschild, the legendary l’Hotel Talleyrand. At what was probably the most exquisite “hotel particulier” in Paris, the Rothschilds’ entertained lavishly. Historically, when the building was purchased by the U. S. government after World War II, l’Hotel Talleyrand became the site of the administration of the Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe. The pair dates back to the 19th century, is made of mahogany, and sports the empire style classically, seen most notably in the bronze d’ore mounts. The bookshelf features exquisite crossed arrows at the base with hidden pull out drawers above. Bronze feet rest above the white marble lip, which continue up mahogany columns to a set of gorgeous profiles. Empire mounts adorn the piece above. The desk features six drawers, bronze d’ore and patinated bronze stylized cheetahs, magnificent swan pulls original to the piece, and an inlaid black leather top. The rock crystal can be found most notably in the magnificent and massive centerpiece which surrounds the stem, as well as the spears on the upper tier. Ormulu Mounted Japanese Imari Porcelain Clock Set, 19th Century

This exquisite three-piece set consists of a large central mantel clock and a pair of matching candelabras. The Imari wear features a white background highlighted with foliage and abstract work in striking reds, blues, and golds. The mantel clock is especially unique, usually seen topped with a gilt bronze element, but in this case a red Japanese figure is placed. The bronze d'ore work is finely detailed with classic Louis XV motifs. The ribbon work, foliage, and movement in the pieces are simply a few examples.
