Showcasing a beautiful pair of Louis XV marquetry cabinets with a central coromandel panel flanked by open shelves. It was fashionable in the 19th century to use coromandel panels as doors, and to work these designs into the construction of French furniture. The French antique piece plays host to a curved marble top, with the same marble seen in the four open shelves, two at each side. The piece features detailed bronze mounts throughout including a pierced gallery on the shelves’ exteriors to offer a barrier for objects on display. Finally, the piece rests on fluted legs with bronze mounts on top and bottom classic to the Louis XV style. Uniquely, the pair can be combined at the back to work as an island in an open concept room, or can of course be placed individually against a wall.
