This extremely fine Louis XVI mahogany writing table dates back to the 19th century and features detailed bronze d’ore mounts. The piece is most notably signed by Paul Sormani, one of the most famous cabinet makers, originally from Italy, with a shop in Paris in the 1800s. The signature reads, “P. Sormani & Fils 10 r. Charlot, Paris.” Finally, the piece features an inset leather top with a bronze inlay, as well as fluted Louis XVI legs with bronze feet. It’s a stellar example of Sormani’s craftsmanship and style.
