The piece features a female figure on either side wearing an Egyptian headdress, classic to the Empire style. Round white enamel clock face is flanked on either side by patinated bronze cherubs. The piece is crowned with a gorgeous bronze d’ore eagle, embellished with bronze d'ore details, and finished with a fantastically detailed bronze d'ore face which operated as the clocks pendulum. Pair of 19th century Meissen sweet meat dishes: one in the form of a reclining gentleman, the other in the form of a reclining lady with one bare breast – the style of the 18th century. The sweet meat dishes are exquisitely decorated with rose, and gold, on a white background. These dishes were used after dinner for sweets, or confections. They are intricately decorated with gold button and lace cuffs on the male figure, and gold pearl. The interior of each dish, and the jacket of the male, as well as the dress of the female, are of the same floral rose-on-white design, and the female is draped in a solid rose stole. The piece is signed on the base.

Pair of French 18th Century Bronze Statues of Satyrs, Signed Clodion

This magnificent matched pair of bronze figures was created by the well known bronzier Clodion in the late 18th century. The pair is a fantastic reflection of Clodion’s skill and celebration of the Rococo style. Here, we see a pair of satyrs strolling in the woods next to a stump of a tree, smiling joyously at one another. Each holds a bronze d’ore horn with a round end and a musical instrument. On one side we see Pan, the chief of the satyrs, with his flute. On the other side we see a female satyr with a tambourine. In Greek mythology, satyrs were known as wild spirits of nature and were shown as half human and half beast. Looking at the details of the fur, the balance of the figures, and the beauty of the garlands, we see Clodion’s impressive talent on full display. Early 1800s, Directoire Period Painted and Gold Leafed Lavabo

Crafted in France, this early 19th century Directoire Lavabo is hand painted, and delicately finished with gold leaf. The piece is faux meuble, meaning simply that the tole is painted in such a way that it resembles marble. The pierced brass gallery creates a sort of balcony, behind which rests the gold leaf painted finials on top and bottom. Most notably, the lavabo is true Directoire, created in the early 1800s. In this piece, it’s a style exemplified best in the whimsical gold leafed face of a muse which rests behind the faucet.

Unique Late 19th Century Bronze Chandelier with Cut and Polished Crystal Globes
