This classic French Louis XVI bergere is carved from beautiful walnut and dates back to the 19th century. The top of the contoured back features pristinely carved roses and leaves, alongside floriate carvings throughout. The sides, back, and seat are caned, with upholstery on top of each arm. 19th Century Regence Gilt Wood Armchairs with Original Aubusson Tapestry

This set of three extremely fine French Regence armchairs features beautiful gilt wood and dates back to the 19th century. The fauteuil pieces are beautifully carved and feature arched, canted, rectangular backs, over bowed seats within serpentine arms, all shimmering from the gold leaf covering. Each chair is raised on cabriole legs ending in scroll feet with a front carved with shell center, and acanthus leaves. The upholstery is gorgeous and in fantastic shape, featured on the seats, fronts, and arms. The backs upholstered on the backs, seats, and arms in fine floral tapestry, with the back classicly are upholstered in a classic French cotton plaid. Lastly, each chair has a carved giltwood “X” form, serpentine stretcher attached to its four legs.
