Grand 19th Century French Sanctuary Lantern with Moorish Designs
Item Number: 1712
This grand hanging lantern was once an incense burning sanctuary lamp, and is made of brass sporting a beautiful dark patina. The French antique piece dates back to the 19th century and is embellished with hand-chiseled Moorish designs on the large bottom half, and angelic faces with wings at center. The piece plays host to three lights, is suspended from a smaller bell-shaped crown by three chains, and finally ends with an elaborate finial at the bottom.
