A truly exquisite piece, this 18th century buffet de chasse features many eye-catching decorations, alongside a history guaranteed to impress. Elaborate scrolls along the doors show off wood carving characteristic of the Normandy region, while complementary "dotted x" woodworkings showcase that this piece was carved during a Regency period between French kings Louis XIV and Louis XV. Buffets de chasse were typically used as an elaborate display table to show off prizes from successful hunts, and that grandeur would continue to shine through this piece in any entryway. Along with the ornately carved wood elements, this piece is topped with a large, striking slab of gray marble. The original locking mechanism is in place, and impressive.
