This stunning Louis XV period poudreuse (dressing table or vanity table) by "Hache Fils a Genoble” is made of walnut with a contrasting dark trim. In the center a mirror slides forward to stand perpendicular to the piece. The piece has two drawers, a tierette, and a door that opens on top of either side for storage. While the left side is deeper with a dummy drawer on the front, the right side is more shallow with a real drawer below. The piece is dated "April 1775,” with a paper glued on the bottom interior of the right hand drawer to signify Hache as the creator.

Fine French Louis XVI Writing Table, Signed “P. Sormani & Fils,” 19th Century
Item Number: 310
This extremely fine Louis XVI mahogany writing table dates back to the 19th century and features detailed bronze d’ore mounts. The piece is most notably signed by Paul Sormani, one of the most famous cabinet makers, originally from Italy, with a shop in Paris in the 1800s. The signature reads, “P. Sormani & Fils 10 r. Charlot, Paris.” Finally, the piece features an inset leather top with a bronze inlay, as well as fluted Louis XVI legs with bronze feet. It’s a stellar example of Sormani’s craftsmanship and style.
