Early 18th Century Portrait of Louis III de Bourbon Outfitted in Suit of Armour

Fantastic Portrait of Louis III de Bourbon, Prince of Condé, a member of the House of Bourbon seen outfitted in suit of armor, with plumed hat, rose velvet, and blue silk sash, set on pastoral background.. He was born in Paris in 1668 and died at the Palace of Versailles in 1710. In 1685 Louis de Bourbon married Louise Francoise de Bourbon who was the eldest legitimized daughter of King Louis XIV of France.  Louis was made a Chevalier du Saint-Esprit in 1686, a colonel of the Bourbon-Infanterie Regiment later that same year, a maréchal de camp in 1690, and a lieutenant general in 1692. Upon the death of his father, he inherited all the Condé titles and estates.
