19th Century Louis XVI Bronze D’Ore Chandelier

This elaborate French Louis XVI bronze d’ore chandelier dates back to the early 19th century. The casting is immaculate, starting with the acanthus leaves adorning the crown and top of the stem, and venturing down towards the three cherubs playing horns at the center. Imagining these golden cherubs reflected in the original candle light gives the chandelier a truly magical feeling. The cups and bobeches are filled with detail. The leafy bunch of grapes as a finial at the bottom is likely an ode to bacchus, the god of wine. The 32 lights combined with the themes of wine and music produce a unique and detailed piece.
