Pair of French Early 18th Century Directoire Carved and Painted Bergeres

Pair of French late 18th century Directoire carved and painted bergeres, with square backs, and circular floriate shape over each leg. The pair is upholstered in white tone-on tone striped silk and down cushions, finished with single cording; side and bottom of chairs finished in double cording of same fabric, with same fabric on each arm, finished in the same way.
