Exquisite Pair of Augustus Rex Porcelain Vases, Early 19th Century, Marked

Pair of early 19th century Augustus Rex black porcelain vases with hand-painted sea-scapes at the top of each, with head of bearded soldier wearing metal plumed helmet on either side of each vase, and floriate design below each on each vase.

The larger painted scenes include:
1. men resting, with one figure smoking pipe, handing a paper to another man (since they are reclining, this is probably the agreement of peace) – we can see other men and tents in the encampment in the background.

2. three men on horseback, two of them with swords engaging in battle, third man with flag; two dead soldiers in foreground, one was drummer. Other soldiers can be seen fighting in background.

3. One soldier on horseback with musket, firing on soldier on horseback, killing him, he is leaning back, holding his sword. In background is elaborate battle scene.Wounded soldier on the battlefield in foreground.

4. Generals, seemingly English, from their coats, and three-corner hats, having meeting on field, mapping out strategy, one smoking pipe, one with his trust rifle, another with long spear, flags and drum nearby, readying themselves for battle, tents and soldiers in background.
