The pair dates back to the 19th century and is embellished with bronze d'ore laurel leaves and floriate d’ore mounts throughout. Note the top of the arms, the mahogany back which is framed with the bronze d’ore details, as well as the front and both sides of the seat. The pair is upholstered in fine, light red silk of the Empire style, a combination of details which result in a timeless and elegant set.

The fauteuil pieces are beautifully carved and feature arched, canted, rectangular backs, over bowed seats within serpentine arms, all shimmering from the gold leaf covering. Each chair is raised on cabriole legs ending in scroll feet with a front carved with shell center, and acanthus leaves. The upholstery is gorgeous and in fantastic shape, featured on the seats, fronts, and arms.
