French Late 19th Century Glass Melon Globe Lantern

This French hanging lantern dates back to the late 19th century and features a glass melon globe as the central piece. These glass globes were used as miniature green houses to protect plants from cold weather, and in this case has been converted into a light fixture. The piece features three lights suspended from a central stem, three pieces of chain which attach the crown to a bronze ring, holding the glass globe. Finally, a finial at bottom and glass plate at top bookend the fixture.

This fantastic French Louis XVI mirror features true gold leafing and dates back to the 19th Century. The piece features a beautiful oval center with bevelled glass. The upper carvings show two doves on a wreath, one with a garland in foot, a flaming torch, and a set of arrows in a quiver.
