This classic Empire table is made of walnut with a dark grey marble top. The French antique piece dates back to the 19th century and sports cylindrical column legs with bronze feet at the bottom and bronze capitals at its top. Three drawers rest below the marble, each adorned with a bronze pull on. Two square legs stand at back, resting on the bottom shelf. The column design is classic to the Empire style, as are the bronze features. Two elements which combine to create an unpretentiously beautiful table.

French 19th Century Louis XVI Desk with a Rose Marble Top and Detailed Bronze d’Ore Mounts
Item Number: 6442
This Louis XVI writing table features a beautiful rose marble top inlaid in a bronze d’ore frame. The French antique piece is mounted heavily in bronze d’ore; a floriate scroll bas relief rests on all four sides, with another bronze d’ore bas relief positioned on the center drawer. The mounts sport classic Louis XVI symbols including a torch, arrows in quiver, and a bow. Each corner is mounted with a detailed bronze d’ore block marguerite. Bronze d’ore Ionic capitals lie at the top of each round, tapered leg, with d’ore feet at the base. Finally, bronze d’ore mounts sit recessed in the flutes both at top and bottom.
