This French Louis XIII country rush seat chair is hand carved from a beautiful walnut wood, and dates back to the 19th century, The carving at the back chair is detailed, featuring a shell at center. At bottom, the legs are joined by a vasiform turned tapered front stretcher. Block and ring shaping is found on the legs and apron as well as the back.

This Pair of classic French Louis XVI bergeres are carved and painted with square backs, dating back to the 19th century. The arms are supported by fluted columns graduated in size towards the bottom, as acanthus leaves rest on the front of each arm. “Marguerites” can be found carved at the top and side of each fluted leg, also graduated in size towards the bottom.
