At top, the crown is embellished with crystal fleurettes all the way around, and draped with both ropes of octagon-shaped crystals as well as cut crystal plaquettes. The two-tiered piece is draped with ropes of octagon-shaped crystals at bottom, and hung with cut crystal plaquettes of various-shapes throughout. The top of the contoured back features pristinely carved roses and leaves, alongside floriate carvings throughout. The sides, back, and seat are caned, with upholstery on top of each arm. Square “Marguerites” can be found carved at the top and side of each fluted leg, which are themselves graduated in size towards the bottom. The piece is delicately detailed and well balanced, a true depiction of French artistry in the 19th century.
