French 19th Century Regule Sculpture of Three Cherubs

This French sculpture of three cherubs is made of Regule and dates back to the 19th century. The piece is signed, ‘Livi,’ and its use of Regule signifies its creation during a period of war in France, Circa 1875, when bronze was rationed. The center cherub is pictured crushing grapes, making wine and playing a tambourine. Flanked on his right and left are two dancing cherubs, one of which has kicked over an urn of wine.
