This gorgeous Louis XV secretaire abbatant features details in abundance. Perhaps most notably, the French antique 19th Century piece sports Vernis Martin decorations on the front, sides and legs. These decorations include allegorical figures in an oval framed in bronze, allegorical scenes on both sides, and birds on the front of each drawer. The top is adorned with marble and enveloped in a pierced gallery. The oval center, feet, and both front and back sides are all draped in detailed, balanced bronze mounts. Finally, the interior is lined with rare satin wood, king’s wood, and a beautiful bronze inlay.

This striking French black lacquered Chinoiserie secretaire abbatant (fall front secretary) is beautifully adorned in golden raised Chinese scenes with flora and fauna. The 19th century  piece features bronze pulls and escutcheons on top, and five drawers at the bottom. The secretary is decorated with a heavy crown, trimmed in gold with gold pastoral scenes below. The interior is lined in green fabric with one shelf in the upper half.
